In July of 1999, Curt Bowen suckered a bunch of us into going on a boat out to Green Banana, a large sinkhole offshore Tampa. There were a lot of new things for me here- boats, saltwater, and very deep cave. It was a gigantic clusterfuck, and resulted in Brett Hemphill dropping a scooter on the bottom, which later had to be recovered. I can't say I participated in any mapping here, but it is, to this day, my deepest cave. Curt eventually made a couple of nice little maps of the place, shown below. From a cartographic standpoint, it should be noted that visibility was rarely greater than 50 feet.
